Inclusive Tech Alliance Awards 2019

Titania is delighted to announce that Chief Strategy Officer, Nicola Whiting, is a finalist in two categories at the Inclusive Tech Alliance Awards 2019 – ‘Business Leader of the Year’ and ‘Diversity Champion of the Year’.

The ITA Awards celebrates diversity and inclusion within the UK’s tech sector – shining a light on diverse leaders and rising stars whilst highlighting the organisations who are helping to make UK Tech more representative.

As someone who provides government-level advice on how to encourage and facilitate diversity, and who writes and speaks regularly on the subject, Nicola is already a well-established role model for many working in tech, and in the cyber industry particularly. Nicola has also been instrumental in ensuring Titania is leading the way in having a truly diverse culture at all levels, starting with its board which is “gender balanced; with backgrounds and thinking types that vary widely”.

Under Nicola’s leadership, Titania has grown from an ambitious start-up to the multi-million pound, award-winning company it is today – so it’s clear to see why Nicola already has many accolades to her name for business strategy. A speaker and mentor for the national DIT Cyber Accelerator programme, Nicola is now helping other cyber companies to develop diverse, values-driven, high performing teams.

On being named an Inclusive Tech Alliance finalist in the ‘Business Leader’ and ‘Diversity Champion’ categories, Nicola said:

“If you truly believe that people are your company’s most precious asset – then it pays to diversify. But to gain the many and varied benefits of diversity, we must ensure diversity on boards and ‘lead from the top down’… It’s also important to have a positive outlook. The cyber security industry is predisposed to focusing on the negative (it’s how we find security holes). We know there is a talent shortage, it’s been well publicised – but people are increasingly realising diversity could help solve this.”

Inclusive Boards Development Director Elizabeth Oni-Iyiola said: “The quality of applications we received has been outstanding. The awards are an important opportunity to celebrate diverse leaders and organisations committed to developing talent from all backgrounds. We hope nominations will inspire others.”

Privileged to have Nicola at the helm, everyone at Titania wishes her the very best of luck at the ITA Awards. Winners will be announced on Friday 29th November 2019 in London. For more information or to attend the awards visit www.itaawards.co.uk
